Blot Immediately Post-Treatment for the first hour: Gently blot your brows with disposable cotton rounds or gauze pads, applying light pressure in regular intervals for 3 seconds to remove your body’s natural healing fluid. This helps minimize the formation of scabs.

Apply Healing Balm: Use a disposable swab to apply a very thin layer of healing balm over your brows.

Evening Cleansing: Before bed, using a gentle cleanser and light pressure wash your brows, thoroughly rinse by splashing water on your brows. Use minimal pressure to remove any buildup of fluid without irritating the area.

Dry Carefully: Pat your brows dry with a disposable tissue, gauze, or cotton round. Avoid using towels, as they may introduce bacteria or cause irritation.

Reapply Healing Balm ONLY on dry brows, Once your brows are dry, apply another thin layer of healing balm.

Morning Cleansing Routine: Repeat the gentle cleansing and balm application process the next morning to continue promoting proper healing.
Important Post-Procedure Precautions
Avoid:

Sweating, Swimming, or Intense Exercise: For the first 72 hours, as this is a critical time for the skin’s healing.

Chemical Peels or Hair Removal: Until the area is fully healed. After healing, use only enzyme exfoliants near the brow area.

Retinols and Acid Exfoliants: These products speed up cellular turnover and will cause your PMU to fade prematurely.
Sun Protection:

Avoid direct sunlight for at least two weeks after the treatment. Always apply SPF 30 or greater to protect your brows from fading or colour shifting. (The Werx offers an invisible SPF 50 shield for purchase.)

Avoid Blood Thinners. 48 Hours Prior: Avoid alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, ibuprofen, and omega-3 supplements, as these can thin your blood and increase bleeding during the session. If You Are On Prescription Blood Thinners: Consult your doctor before stopping them. A written doctor’s note is required if you need to pause any prescribed blood-thinning medication for the procedure.

Pause Active Skincare Products 4 Weeks Prior: Stop using Retin-A, AHAs, and other exfoliating products near your brows to reduce skin sensitivity and ensure optimal results.

Let Your Brows Be Natural 1 Week Prior: Avoid waxing, tweezing, or threading your eyebrows. Let your natural brow hair grow so we can design the ideal shape.

Protect Your Skin 1 Week Prior: Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds. Sunburned or irritated skin cannot be treated.

Schedule Botox or Fillers Wisely 1 Month Prior: Schedule any Botox or filler treatments at least one month before your microblading appointment to allow them to settle fully.

Notify Us About Your Care Plan: If you are under medical care, provide us with any relevant information, especially if you’re taking medications like steroids, antibiotics, or Accutane. A doctor’s note may be required to confirm if it is safe to proceed with treatment.

Contraindications for Microblading
Microblading may not be suitable for everyone. Below is a list of contraindications to help determine if this treatment is right for you:

Medical Conditions and Medications

Pregnant or Nursing: Hormonal changes can affect healing and pigment retention.

Blood Thinners: Clients on anticoagulants (e.g., aspirin, warfarin, or Plavix) must provide a doctor’s note before discontinuing use for the procedure.

Diabetes (Type 1 or 2): Requires medical clearance as healing can be compromised.

Autoimmune Disorders: Conditions like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis may affect healing. A doctor’s note may be required.

Epilepsy: Microblading may not be suitable if seizures are uncontrolled.

Bleeding Disorders: Such as hemophilia, which can increase bleeding during the procedure.

Active Skin Conditions: Eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, or severe acne in the brow area.

Accutane: Must be off Accutane for at least 6 months before microblading.
